There were bridges burning…
Scott Liss is a songwriter, singer, and guitarist. He lives on the central New Jersey shore. He is usually a solo performer but has worked with a revolving group of musicians at various points in his career. He is the creative mind behind the project NightOnlyVisual and the band the Sixty-Six.
While living in Baltimore, Scott began performing solo and writing what would eventually become his first full length record. The dark and ethereal NightOnlyVisual :: Skylines was recorded in 2004 with John Noll and Paul Ritchie and released in 2005.
After the release of Skylines, Scott moved to Philadelphia where he spent nearly two years performing solo before moving to New Jersey in 2007.
Liss spent his time in New Jersey establishing himself as one of the strongest artists among the many musical talents of the area. He recorded and released his second record, The Blackpool Letters, in 2010 with Paul Ritchie who was this time producing. The sound had progressed from Skylines, touching on various genres including progressive-alternative, electric folk, and southern rock.
It was in New Jersey that Scott formed the Sixty-Six, a revolving cast of musicians that made up his band. The Sixty-Six saw Scott dive deeper into a more aggressive, progressive sound; a clear contrast from the neo-psychedelic/folk sound of his earlier solo work.
In the Summer of 2011, Liss began recording for his third record, again with producer/engineer Paul Ritchie. It was during this time that he returned to his roots as a solo artist.
Scott Liss will make music until the day he dies.
